Frequently Asked Questions
Can I rent the Event Space without booking lodging?
Yes, but we prioritize event bookings for groups staying at the Barn Burner. Adding the Event Space to a lodging booking is also the simplest and lowest-cost way to rent it.
If you’re only looking for an event venue, the space may be available starting 90 days before your event, subject to availability.
👉 Hosting a wedding reception? The Event Space is only available for receptions when the full lodging is booked. It’s best suited for rehearsal dinners, welcome parties, and post-wedding brunches.
How far in advance can I book?
Lodging + Event Space: Book up to 1 year in advance (or further - just ask).
Event Space Only: Book up to 90 days before your event date, if still available.
Want to start planning earlier? Groups booking the Entire Barn Burner get priority.
How many guests can the Event Space accommodate?
Capacity depends on your event type, but here’s what we suggest for guest comfort:
Seated meals: Up to 60 guests (but 30-50 is most comfortable)
Meetings & discussions: Up to 30 guests at tables facing one direction, or in a horseshoe or circle
Lecture-style presentations: Up to 70 guests with chairs set up theater style
Weddings & receptions: Up to 45 guests with tables for a seated meal, a head table, and a small dance-floor area (must also book lodging)
These numbers are just guidelines, and there are a lot of things to consider. We are always happy to provide feedback on whatever you're planning and whether it would be a good fit for our space.
Can I bring my own food/choose my own caterer?
Yes! You can bring in your own food or hire a licensed caterer. The Event Space has an attached catering kitchen with a fridge, ice machine, prep tables, and a 3-bay sink - but no oven, stove, or microwave, so plan accordingly.

What about serving alcohol?
Alcohol is allowed but must follow local regulations. If your event includes outside guests not staying in the lodging, you may need a Special Event Liability Insurance policy.
A licensed bartender is required for cash bars or when not covered by event insurance.

What if my group is bigger than 29?
While our lodging capacity tops out at 29 overnight guests, the event space welcomes day guests beyond that. Groups of 30 to 70 make it work by housing the core group here and using the Barn Burner as home base, with everyone else staying nearby. We can provide recommendations for other local lodging options, if needed.
What hours will we have access to the Event Space?
Event Space access runs 9 am to 10 pm by default. We have some flexibility, but will always defer to quiet hours for the lodging guests in the building.
Booking the Event Space with lodging? Access typically follows your stay, from 3 pm check-in to 11 am check-out, but that may vary depending on your specific rental terms.
Who handles set-up and tear-down?
Unless otherwise arranged, you're responsible for your own set-up, tear-down, and basic cleaning.
Want it handled instead? Add our set-up and tear-down service for $250.
